"I moved into my 28ft.
yurt this past fall. A few weeks back we had temperatures as low
as -36C degrees. One night it was -45C, with the
windchill, and I had no problem keeping the yurt at room temperature
with my wood stove. Yurtco has made a great
year-round dwelling. Thanks"

"My wife and I have enjoyed
our Yurtco Yurt in Canada's Arctic for the past 4 years. Whether
spring, summer, winter or fall, we find it a comfortable haven.
Even when
the temperature dips to -30 C outside we are very comfortable and
warm inside with the help of our airtight wood stove. This is a
great product! "

"I am really loving
yurt living. I do indeed feel the closeness of nature. I have
enjoyed many moose sightings and I also hear owls, songbirds,
coyotes, waterfalls, ocean waves
during high seas, and, in spring, a cacophony of frogs that goes
on all
night. I love a night-time yurt filled with
silvery moonlight and, at times, a moon shining down through
the dome.
Dome sky watching, whether stars or drifting clouds, is a wonderful
yurt activity. I am always cosy in my yurt - even on cold mornings
it heats up very quickly."

"We now have
had our Yurt for 12 months and have experienced rain, freezing
rain, snow,
cold, hot, and wind. The thunder storms were fantastic. The
28 foot yurt has handled everything and we love the atmosphere
provided
by the Yurt.
The service and help
provided by Yurtco is second to none. Some initial problems were
rectified
immediately and
satisfactorily. I
would recommend Yurtco and its Yurts to anyone looking for
alternative accommodation. " Wolf Creek Yurts

Saturday night the Pacific Coast of Japan was
hit
by a massive Typhoon,
(see news report below) the worst
in 100 years (it was actually the same one that devastated
the Philippines,
killing over 1,000 people). Chiba got hit hard with gusts
of 180 km/hr. Of
course I had a sleepless night fearing the destruction
of my yurt.
The good news is, it survived! When
I arrived at the site at 7:00 am many of my neighbors were
already there to see what had happened to the yurt and
I was relieved to see it standing. However, the dome
was
torn
off, so the interior got soaked. Fortunately,
it has dried out well and I put a tarp over the hole. As
one of my neighbors said on Sunday morning, if the yurt
stood up to that typhoon, it will stand up to anything!
They were truly amazed, and so was I for that matter! I
will continue to recommend YURTCO to all my friends"

"
Japan Today" -
December 6, 2004
TOKYO —A rapidly expanding
low-pressure system brought typhoon-class winds to the
Japanese archipelago from Saturday night to Sunday night,
causing blackouts, stranding ships and paralyzing some
air and land traffic.
In Tokyo, winds of 144 kilometers
per hour —the strongest ever in the capital —were
recorded early Sunday morning. Elsewhere in the metropolitan
area, they reached 180 kph in Chiba and 150 kph in Yokohama.
The gales caused power outages in more than 30,000 homes
in Chiba Prefecture, where 21 people were injured in wind-related
accidents. The strong gales also resulted in the cancellation
of more than 300 flights, including those departing from
and arriving at Tokyo's Haneda airport, affecting about
45,000 people.

"My relationship
with YURTCO came about as a result of a protracted look
for a suitable low impact structure for our Northern Gulf
Island waterfront property. I had researched the US and
even visited existing units in Washington and Oregon. Then
I heard about Yurtco.
Yurtco staff were very
supportive of both our specific requirements and the transportation
arrangements to site. The result is that we have an attractive
structure that is beautiful to both see and enjoy. Summer
is a joy with the views and airiness of our Yurt. In the
cooler periods, with the wood stove going, it is snug and
withstands winter storms without a tremor. In short we
are very happy to endorse YURTCO."
